Rose Holton was born December 9, 1916 in Aplington, Iowa: the daughter of Albert and Emma (VanLengen) Johnson. She was united in marriage to Kenny Holton on February 23, 1957 in Caldonia, Minnesota; he preceded her in death on October 18, 1993. Rose was employed at Powers Manufacturing as a cutter until her retirement in 1978. She was a lifetime AMVETS Auxiliary member. Rose volunteered at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown for eight years and also with RSVP. She enjoyed camping, hockey, riding motorcycles and snowmobiles with Kenny.
Rose passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2012 at Ravenwood Nursing and Rehab Center at the age of 95 from natural causes. She is preceded in death by her husband Kenny; a daughter Mary Treva Holton; four brothers and three sisters. Rose is survived by three sons: Jerry (Judy) Bodecker of Waterloo, Russ Bodecker of Evansdale and Nordean Bodecker of Lake Panasoffkee, Florida; two daughters: Sheridan Redfearn of Evansdale and Karen (Bob) Thompson of San Benito, Texas; 25 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; 23 great-great-grandchildren and a brother Albert Johnson of Littleton, Colorado. Rose will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
