Marian (Toots) Laurine Lehr, 94, of Waterloo was born on February 7, 1917 in rural Grundy County to James C Sr. and Else Marie (Nielsen) Jensen. Marian was united into marriage with Kenneth F. Lehr in 1943, in Lancaster, Missouri; he preceded her death on February 28, 1995. She was employed during WWII with Hinson Manufacturing as a seamstress for 18 years and K Mart as a clerk retiring in 1981. Marian loved to bake and sew in her spare time. She lovingly doted over her only grand daughter, Shelby; making her blankets and other gifts. Marian was a devoted member of Concordia Church, and was an active member of the LWML. She passed away on Monday, January 30, 2012 at the Elizabeth E Martin Care Center of Cedar Falls. Marian is preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Taylor J. Lehr; a sister, Patricia Harris; four brothers: Victor, Mike, James Jr, and Wayne Jensen. She is survived by her son KC (Gail) Lehr of Cedar Falls, a step son, Gary Lehr of Hudson and a grand daughter, Shelby K. Lehr of Cedar Falls, a brother, John D. (Mary) Jensen of Salem, IL, a sister, Alice M. Jensen of Riverside, CA, several nieces, nephews, cousins and a close friend, Doris Webber.
