Charles Floyd Storey, 82, of Shellsburg was born to Henry and Della (Fosdick) Storey on May 6, 1929 in Boise, ID. On October 17, 1949 Charles married Carol Virginia Walker inManly, Iowa. She preceded Charles in death on December 16, 1984. He was united into marriage with Marie Krueger on August 5, 1985. Charles was employed with Rath Packing for 27 years and the University of Northern Iowa for nine years working as a supervisor in the power plants before retiring. In his spare time Charles loved to make various pieces from woodworking.. Charles enjoyed feeding the birds and other wild life, camping, and all of his pets throughout the years. He died on January 20, 2012 at the Vinton Lutheran Home of natural causes. Charles is preceded in death by his parents, a son, Randy Storey; two brothers: John Storey as an infant and Thomas Storey; and a sister, Ruth Phillips. He is survived by his wife, Marie "Krueger" Storey of Shellsburg, two sons: Charles (Karen) and Tim (Chris) Storey both of Waterloo and a daughter, Jackie DeHart of Cedar Falls. As well as raising his own children, Charles also raised a nephew, Larry (Donna) Phillips; a niece, Ave (Don) Williams of Waterloo and two sister-in-laws. He is also survived by numerous grand and great grand children.
