I was so lucky to live 20 minutes away from Aunt Bea for 7 years in the 1990s. Paul and I have 20+ aunts & uncles, and have almost never lived close. When we were kids, we'd visit occasionally; but I always felt I didn't have a name/identity; I was one of Marion and Eliel's 6 blond girls! Then Paul took a job at Wartburg College and I discovered Bea was so close, so I would go in for a visit, a cup of coffee, or to take her out to lunch. She was so warm and grateful! I still remember going over for the last time to say GoodBye. W e shared hugs and I said 'I love you!" I looked up to see that brought tears to her eyes! I learned a lesson about offering hugs, especially to people who live alone. It was special to see that I could be special to my aunt! We are so sorry that we are too far away to have come for a visit or for her services.

I did Bea"s hair for many many years! I adored her. I don"t think there is anything we didn"t talk about. She had to endure much in her lifetime and she never complained once. She knew God and she quietly tried to set an example. She certainly did do that! She loved her children and she loved her grandchildren very much! One that took a lifetime of laughter and tears, friendships and loyalty to come to frutition. My dear lady I will miss you but I will never ever forget you. One day I shall see you again.
