Barbara Ann Henson Bohnstengel was born March 10, 1963 in Hartsell, Alabama, daughter of Roy Sr. and Jean Ward Henson. She grew up in the Waterloo area where she attended Central High School. On July 24, 2009 she was united in marriage to Melvin Bohnstengel at Traer, IA where they made their home. Barbara held various jobs over the years which include working in the pole-line construction/cable industry for ten years, traveling throughout the United States with her friend John Luhman. She did storm damage work in New Orleans following hurricane Katrina, being most proud of her ability to climb poles with the "big dogs". Barbara made her home in Lacrosse, WI and Waterloo, IA where she held jobs at Walzcraft Cabinets and various motels in Lacrosse and in Waterloo was employed making cabinets in Waterloo, operated her own cleaning company and did t shirt silk screening for a time. Barbara's death came on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at the Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo. She was preceded in death by her father Roy Sr. and is survived by her husband Melvin of Traer, mother Jean Henson of Traer, two sons; Bobbie and Josh and one daughter Angel, four brothers Roy Henson and Tim Henson both of Waterloo, Greg Henson and Pat Henson both of Traer, four grandchildren her dog Richie and several nieces and nephews. Barbara believed in the Lord and was a member of the Heartland Vineyard Church in Cedar Falls. She was very spunky gal who had an adventurous life. She loved to fish, the Minnesota Vikings, gardening, cleaning house, cooking, spending time around the bonfire, cars and spent time helping her brothers fix things.
