Dolores Ann Baker was born July 19, 1925 in Chelsea, IA daughter of Jack and Caroline Musel Prusha. She received her education in Chelsea where she graduated from high school. She then worked as a telephone operator for a time and on July 5, 1947 was married to John Baker at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Chelsea. John and Dolores made their home in Chelsea until 1948 when they moved to Traer. They made their home at 2807 Hwy 8 east of town where she continued to live after John's death on November 7, 1995. Dolores did seasonally work for Funk's Seed Corn Company in Traer and in free times enjoyed riding her bike, dancing, watching TV, shopping and spending time with her family. Her death came on Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at the Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo at the age of 86 years. She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church and Rosary Society. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband John, one grandson Justin Powell, and one sister, Lillian Prusha and one brother Wesley Prusha. She is survived by two sons, John (Sarah) Baker of Springfield, MO and Michael Baker of Traer, one daughter Mary Karls of Lodi, WI six grandchildren and one sister Marjorie Ferris of Toledo, IA.
