DeanM. Mauderer was born December 2, 1924 in Dysart, IA, son of Henry and Amanda (Peterson) Mauderer. He received his education in country school near Dysart and later graduated from Traer High School. On January 7, 1945 he was drafted into the United States Army, serving in the South Pacific Theater and occupation of Japan. After his discharge he returned to the Traer area where he worked as a farm hand, Raths and Chamberlains in Waterloo. On May 17, 1949 he married Corrine Hulme and the couple farmed and he did general trucking. He also gave many flying lessons at the Traer airport and flew for Niederhauser Airways of Marshalltown. After retiring he remained on the farm and continued to help his son Marvin with the farming until his health declined on September 27, 2010. Dean's death came at the Sunrise Hill Care Center in Traer early Wednesday morning, May 2, 2012 at the age of 87 years with his family at his side. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter Diane Mauderer on March 20, 2011, one great grandson Trenton and three sisters Viola, Marie and LaVonne. He is survived by his wife Corrine, a son Marvin (Denise) of Traer, two daughters Marilyn (Dennis) Manson of Palo, IA, Sandra (Sheldon) Schnathorst of Waterloo, IA, 7 grandchildren, Justin, Josh, Sherri, Brad, Jason, Dawn and Cody, two step grandchildren, Keith and Stacy, 4 great grandchildren Taylor, Shelby, Alex and Brody and 1 step great grandson Ryan, 1 sister Anna Mae Winkelpleck and 1 brother Donald Mauderer both of Dysart and many nieces and nephews and cousins.
