of Dean's Passing

Memories & Candles
I knew Dean when I was in high school and he was a few years older. He flew with my dad, Dean Thomas; and I knew him from around airplanes and hangers. As a younger girl I thought he was so cool and I really admired him. Sounds as if he had a long and good life and leaves many people who have loved him very much.

I was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Dean. I first met Dean at a flight breakfast at the Traer Airport in the Fall of 1965 where he was giving rides in his brand new Piper Cherokee. This was the first time I had ever been in a plane, was immediatly hooked, and started taking flying lessons from him.
Dean was the best flight instructor you could ever ask for. He was relaxed, soft spoken, and never criticized but

Dean was a very considerate friendly man. Although I didn't know him well he was a friend of my parents, Harold & Helen Carr. After my father had passed, my sister needed aerial pictures of farm ground for the Tech school she worked for, Dean took my Mom, sister and I up in his helicoptor all around Dysart area to take pictures. He was very kind and fun. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family now and in the days to come.

So sorry to hear of Uncle Deans passing--I will always have very found memories of growing up playing on the farm with the whole family. We always had many laughs and lots of fun. May peace be with the family and many great memories remembered. Thougts and prayers are with you all.

Uncle Dean will be missed by everyone.
I am really glad that I got my one dance with him.
